![]() ![]() Some evenings the huge bed was covered with heart shaped rose petals by room service. Our room was huge, with a balcony over the river. A quick phone call from the beach bar and the boat is back to take you home. If thats not enough there are buckets full of newish snorkels, masks and flippers to borrow to watch the underwater world. Small vignettes to give you an idea: to go to the beach you wait 5 minutes for a boat (often only us on it) which chugs you down the gorgeous reed lined river watching the turtles sunning themselves on the banks, then across the bay to the "beach club" where you can sit all day, watching the ocean, reading, swinging in the hammock, sitting beneath the trees sipping iced rose wine with your squid salad for lunch, then lying next to the sea again. The next thing to know is that it is impossibly beautiful in a way that just touches the soul again and again. (Having said that, we grumbled a bit and the next day 3 excellent wines were on special offer at a third less than they had been which greatly improved our mealtimes). The first thing you need to understand is that this place is remote, quiet and the wine is even more expensive than you might guess from other reviewers. In the mornings we would sit out, sipping tea, watching the river. ![]() ![]()
